The etiquette of the email salutation – part one

Dear Miss Foxley. No, too formal. Hi. Not formal enough. Perhaps no greeting at all? But that just sounds rude, and being rude won’t get me a date with my son’s sexy science teacher. Is there a correct greeting when asking a teacher on a date by email? Probably not.

** this week’s WordPress writing challenge is based on a poll, asking ‘How do you start an email?’ I voted for this: ‘The world is too complicated for a single strategy. It depends who I’m writing to’. Do you agree, or am I just old fashioned? Either way, the fifty words above is my response.
